Welcome Stranger is the name given to the world’s largest gold nugget, discovered by John Deason and Richard Oates at Moliagul, in Victoria, Australia, on February 5, 1869. Spelling out that name in white neon in the artist’s handwriting, the work is a kind of tribute to immigrants and peoples ceaselessly seeking to better their lives.
