The Last Sentence of the Book, 2011 –
Graphite on paper
Each 40 × 30 cm

The last sentence of each book chosen by the artist from his library is faithfully reproduced in the correspond ing size and typeface on a sheet of paper. Each line appears to be suspended on the page, which becomes a navigable mental map. The last sentence becomes the first of an unknown story to be invented by the viewer’s imagination. The series begins with the final words of Chronos: How Time Shapes Our Universe, by the French physicist Étienne Klein: “We must learn to embrace the irreversible.”
