Lenticular print
160×120cm

This double-image portrait of the Argentinean poet and writer Jorge Luis Borges is based on a picture taken by Argentinean photographer Eduardo Comesaña in1969. It shows the blind Borges with his eyes shut, attending a show. Through a mirror inversion of the two images (Borges was both fascinated and troubled by mirrors), and depending on the viewing angle, an elongated shape emerges in the middle, suggesting either the eye of a tiger (for Borges, the tiger was the ultimate representation of time) or a “third eye.”
