Forever Immigrant
Forever Immigrant, 2012–
Endorsing ink on wall
Dimensions variable
For this work, a rubber stamp is used to repeatedly print the words “Forever Immigrant” more or less densely on a wall, creating a sort of monumental cloud. Over the years, the artist has reactivated the project numerous times, working either alone or with community groups in institutional and urban spaces around the world. The project is a reflection on immigration and permanent uncertainty: the “forever immigrant” belongs to no territory.
