Survival Act, 2012
Bow saw blade, ligature wire, fake diamonds
ø 24 cm

The two extremities of a rusty manual saw blade are linked by binding mesh wire (used particularly in building foundations to link the metal mesh before the concrete slab is poured). In a henceforth circular configuration, this linking act gives this object, on the brink of extinction, a new lease of life. By imitating the work of a smith, the blade is transformed into a crown mounted with sixteen false diamonds. It finally becomes an object of celebration, a fake that alerts to the true value of objects, of attitudes and of real acts performed by everyone on a daily basis.
